Sanna Longden:

No Child Left On His Or Her Behind:

World Dances and Singing Games for the Music Curriculum

Friday & Saturday, January 28 & 29, 2011
Fri. 7 to 10 PM, Sat. 9 to 4 PM
 Meridian Park Elementary School
 17077 Meridian Ave N., Shoreline WA 98133

Sanna will share useful and enjoyable singing games and social dances from a variety of the world’s cultures. These community movement games will further the skills of our new generation of learners in cooperation, civility, concentration, team-building, and social-emotional learning. No dissing during dancing!  Sanna will also teach ethnic music activities to celebrate upcoming holidays and enhance the music curriculum while emphasizing cultural background, national styling, teaching techniques, and classroom management through patterned movement.

Please dress coolly and comfortably for this active workshop.  Smooth-soled flat or low-heeled shoes are recommended, rather than flip-flops or heavy sports shoes.  Also, Sanna would appreciate it if you avoid wearing scented toiletries and perfumed cosmetics during our time together.

Most of the activities will come from her series of CDs and DVDs that will be available for purchase at the workshop.
